Uluru Feel
This was taken at Uluru, NT, Australia. It is a place of heat, flies and high contrast light, where the rock changes colours and shades not just at sunrise/set but throughout the day. And it is a place of spiritual importance to the indigenous owners. I have photographed it many times and at different times of the day; and hope to convey some of that spirituality through my images.
Capture the feel
This was taken out one of my favourite locations, Aira Force. If you know it then …. well you know it …. if you don’t a stream tumbles through small canyons, multiple falls before coming to its final drop at Aira Force. I have photographed this stream many times in many conditions, but in this shot, where the fall drops into a small basin, I think I have captured some of the true feel of the place.
Sorry for the delay
Seeing
Unless you are primarily orientated to studio photography the majority of photographs are opportunistic. Yet it is not just being in the right place at the right time, as was the previous post, but also ‘seeing’ what is in front of you and imagining the potential for creating an image. When I did my LRPS assessment a common comment by the judges on those of us who passed was ‘good seeing’. In the case of this image it was captured overlooking the beautiful Tyrhhenian Sea. It took just a touch in photoshop to create what my imagination saw.
Just because
It’s all in the pattern
I do love the patterns and shapes I see around me; mostly, but not always, those in nature. And in the end it matters little where the original was, I just hope you like what you see; I post them because I like them. But for the hell of it; one of these images is from a beach in southern Sweden, the other from the sea off Siciliy. Enjoy
